EU Commission website on new rules for official controls in feed and food

Further to the political agreement on the recasting of the EU Regulation on Official Feed and Food Controls, a new Regulation is expected to be adopted and published in the official journal in March 2017, with measures being implemented stepwise, some within a year after publication and others within 6 years. The EU Commission will have to draft within these 6 years many different delegated and implementing acts and decided to involve stakeholders all along the process, via a public website.

The website includes for the time being general information on the main provisions of the future new Regulation and as such is already an interesting source of information. It is expected that information on the implementation process, i.e. draft proposals for delegated and implementing acts as well as updates on e.g. establishment of the EU reference centers for animal welfare will also be uploaded on this website.
