FEFAC membership today consists of national associations from EU Member States as full members and of an increasing number of observer members from non-EU countries. FEFAC is the only independent spokesman of the European Compound Feed Industry at the level of the European Institutions. FEFAC holds observer status in CODEX Alimentarius.

The new President of FEFAC is Mr Ruud Tijssens. Mr Ruud Tijssens is Director Corporate Affairs in Agrifirm Group, based in The Netherlands.
Mr Ruud Tijssens succeeds to Mr Patrick Vanden Avenne, who has been FEFAC’s President since 2010.

On the occasion of its XXVI Congress in Cracow, the FEFAC General Assembly welcomed the applications for active membership of the Croatian Feed Industry Association (Grupacila Industrije Stocne Hrane – CFIA) and the Bulgarian compound feed manufacturers association (Bulgarian Feed Manufacturers Association – BFMA).

During the XXVI FEFAC Congress “- How to Stay Profitable in Volatile Times” on 5-8 June 2013 in Cracow, FEFAC members have provided final estimates for the compound feed production for the EU-27 in 2012. The total production estimate is now set at 152.7 mio. t, i.e. 0.7% above the 2011 figure. Pig feed has seen its production fall by -1.4%, whereas cattle feed recovered from its 2011 drop with a +2.4% in 2012. Poultry feed continued increasing by 1.5%, thereby confirming its position of leading segment of compound feed above pig feed.

At the occasion of the XXVI Congress of the European Feed Manufacturers’ Federation (FEFAC) in Cracow, the FEFAC General Assembly elected Dr Helen Raine as Honorary Member for her outstanding professional achievement to the benefit of the European feed industry in the area of feed and feed safety legislation, feed assurance, risk and crisis management as well as for the defence of Intellectual Property Rights.
